Mines detected in Batumi

Four mines were found in the former military camp of Russian troops in Batumi. Sappers arrived to examine the area, the Batumi city hall said.

The territory of the military camp, where the mines were revealed, was cordoned off by police.

The mines have been revealed today, when the construction of a trade center was launched in the territory of former Russian military camp. Excavator operators accidentally revealed a mine excavator.

The Georgian authorities from time to time find old mines at the military camp, left by Russian military in the late 1990s.
