Turkish court decides on arrest of ex-military chief

A Turkish court made a decision on the arrest of Former Chief of the Turkish General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit.

The Van City Serious Crimes Court had decided to arrest Buyukanit following the investigation into the events occurred in Hakkari in the Semdinli province in 2005, the Star newspaper reported.

Then, a terrorist act organized by the terrorist organization PKK in front of the police station injured 23 people. Clashes occurred between police and the public following the terror act. As a result, the clashes killed one person and injured two.
