
The 17th International Dede Korkut Festival opened in Bayburt, Turkey. Ganira Pashayeva, MM Deputy of Azerbaijan was among the participants of the opening ceremony. In her speech at the opening ceremony said “it is a great pleasure to be in the land of the father of Turks, Dede Gorgud”.
TURKSAV Chairman, Yehya Akengin, noted that precepts of the spiritual father of the Turkic world, Dada Gorgud who lived in the 570-631, are the light for generations. Festival participants were handed out two thousand new copies of the Dede Korkut Epos. The first day ended with dances of Georgia, Elazig, and Bayburt folklore groups.
