Erdogan and Saakashvili to attend opening of new facilities on Georgian side

The new facilities at the Sarp border crossing between Turkey and Georgia will be inaugurated on May 31.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will be in attendance at the opening of the new facilities on the Georgian side.

During the opening, Prime Minister Erdogan and President Saakashvili are expected to sign a protocol that allows Turkish and Georgian citizens to travel with their ID cards only.

The new facilities in Turkish part of the border crossing were opened on March 5, 2009.
