Iran discloses new hydrocarbon structures in Caspian Sea

Iran has discovered 46 large and small hydrocarbons structures in the Caspian Sea, Head of the Iranian Oil Company Khazar Mohammad Osuli was quoted as saying by the Iranian Shana news agency. He said eight of them have significant hydrocarbon potential.

He added that new hydrocarbon structures were discovered in the sea depth, due to which necessary condition should be created to carry out drilling works.

Iran launched first drilling platform the Amir Kabir, former Iran-Alborz in the Caspian Sea in 2009. The platform was constructed by Sedra company in the Neka coast. The platform is located on the four bases. The platform was developed by Iranian engineers.

The structure was prepared on three construction projects, including the construction of the Amir Kabir platform, manufacture of the "Caspian" ships and establishment of support center.
The construction project with a primary cost of $215 million and $34 billion tumen ($34 million) was launched in 2011. In general, $500 million was invested in this platform construction.
