Turkey capacity utilization rate up to 74.9 percent

Turkey's capacity utilization rate in manufacturing industry rose 2.2 percentage points year-on-year and 1.7 points from a month earlier to 74.9 percent in April.

These statistics were result of a Central Bank poll that surveyed 1893 workplaces active in manufacturing industry.

The capacity utilization rate was 72.7 percent in April 2010, and 73.2 percent in March 2011.

When compared with April 2010 figures, capacity utilization rate increased in durable consumer goods, investment goods and intermediate goods, and it decreased in non-durable consumer goods, consumer goods and also in food and beverages in April 2011.

The capacity utilization rate rose to 72.9 percent from 69.1 percent in durable consumer goods, to 75.1 percent from 68.2 percent in investment goods and to 77.3 percent from 76.2 percent in intermediate goods.

It dropped to 70,5 percent from 71.6 percent in non-durable consumer goods, to 70.9 percent from 71.2 percent in consumer goods and to 66.5 percent from 70 percent in food and beverages in April 2011.
