Iran seizes 1,075 tons of drugs in 2010

A total of 1,070 tons of various drugs have been seized in Iran since the Iranian last calendar year (starting March 21), said Iran General Inspection Organization’s general adviser Ahmad Nasri, Mehr News Agency reported.

Nasri said 7,000 tons of drugs has been produced worldwide since 2010. Meanwhile, 110 tons of opium was seized in Iran since last week, Fars News Agency reported quoting Iranian Internal Minister Mostafa Najjar.
