Georgian Speaker holds meetings in Paris

Georgian Parliament Speaker Davit Bakradze is on an official visit to France.
Davit Bakradze will meet with the president of the National Assembly and the MPs. Yesterday, the speaker talked with the president of the Senate and the chairperson of the Defence and the Armed Forces Committee of the National Assembly.

The sides discussed the details of the six-point French-brokered ceasefire agreement signed in the days of August war in Georgia and assessed its implementations.

The process of Georgia`s integration into the NATO, trade agreement with EU, simplification of visa regime and cooperation in the military and security spheres were also touched at the meeting.

The upcoming self-government elections in Georgia were also one of the topical issues discussed at yesterday`s meeting. The French MPs expressed a desire to monitor the elections on May 30.

Local newspapers interviewed Davit Bakradze within the visit.
