Irish president in Turkey for meetings

Ireland's President Mary McAleese arrived in Turkey on Monday on a formal visit.
McAleese is the official guest of Turkish President Abdullah Gul.

She will stay in Turkey till March 26.

After holding talks in Turkish capital of Ankara, McAleese will proceed to northwestern province of Canakkale to commemorate Irish soldiers who died during World War I.

Irish president will also meet with Turkish business people in Istanbul.
