Injured foreigner found in Istanbul train station

16 March 2010 [19:39] - TODAY.AZ
Security guards discovered a young foreigner with burn wounds on his body in Istanbul’s Sirkeci station at around 1 a.m. Tuesday after hearing screams emanating from the parked train cars.
The unidentified man had torn clothes, carried no ID and could not speak Turkish.

The ambulance could not enter the area because of the parked train cars. Emergency-unit employees wanted to use a stretcher to carry the man, but he refused to lie down due to his burns. As he walked to the ambulance, he reportedly tried to tell police in English to get their hands off his burned arm, which officers were holding as they walked.

The victim was taken to the Istanbul University Medical School Hospital, where doctors said his health situation was not life threatening. According to police, his injuries were due to electrical burns.

Security guards at Sirkeci meanwhile said they had seen the same man in the station for the past couple of days.
