Azerbaijani youth of Georgia to establish forum

A Forum of Azerbaijani Youth in Georgia "Georgia-our motherland" will be established on the initiative of the Congress of Azerbaijanis in Georgia (CAG).

"The Forum of Azerbaijani Youth in Georgia will be launched to unite and support their integration into Georgian society," the CAG chairman Ali Babayev said.

The founding congress of the Forum of Azerbaijani Youth in Georgia will be held March 17 at the Cinema House in Tbilisi, he said.

"The Congress will be attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani embassy in Georgia, Azerbaijani State Committee for Diaspora, the Ministry of Reintegration of Georgia, public figures of Azerbaijan and Georgia," Babayev added.

The Congress of Azerbaijanis in Georgia was founded on March 17, 2008 in Tbilisi by nearly 20 Azerbaijani NGOs.

The purpose of the Congress to assist integration of Azerbaijanis into the Georgian society and study the ways to solve their problems.

According to unofficial information, about 500,000 Azerbaijanis live in the region of Kvemo Kartli (Borchali) in Georgia.
