Consultations to select opposition joint candidate for Tbilisi Mayor Elections will start today, Leader of the public movement "Protect Georgia" Levan Gachechiladze said.
Gachechiladze will be actively involved in the process.
He says the consultations will decide whether the joint candidate will be revealed by Primary or social survey.
"I believe that much compromise and bravery is needed to start the third wave of victory in Tbilisi," Gachechiladze noted.
Leader of "Protect Georgia" welcomes Irakli Alasania’s initiative about joint candidate in Tbilisi Mayor Elections and considers that this is ‘victorous step’.
Gachechiladze states that doors are open to all opposition parties to joint consultations, negotiations and meetings.
Alasania stated on Feb. 22 that he and his political party would engage in the process of revealing a united candidate without the Alliance for Georgia.
As for the primary, Alasania said "primary should be protected from outer interferences. If we agree on a primary, the current model will be changed. Nobody will be involved in it except the society. It will be something like a commission for revealing a united candidate, members of which will be only representatives of a society," Alasania said.
