Georgia and Turkey discussed military cooperation

Prospects of development of bilateral Georgian-Turkish cooperation were discussed at the meeting of Bacho Akhalaia, the Minister of Defense of Georgia, and his Turkish counterpart Mehmet Vecdi Gönül.

The sides touched upon technical issues and cooperation in training sphere.

"For a number of years we've been cooperating with Turkey. We concerned about deepening this cooperation and the possible prospects between the two ministries," Akhalaia said.

Answering the question, whether arming Georgia by Turkey was meant, Akhalaia said such topics are not discussed at the meetings of such format.
