Georgian opposition hopes for John McCain's impact on Georgia's President

The Georgian opposition believes that Senator John McCain will react the information he has received.

It became known after a meeting with of the opposition leaders with senator in Batumi that they discussed removal of foreign threats from Georgia and prospects for democratic development of the country.

David Usupashvili from the Alliance for Georgia, 'Save Georgia' movement leader Levan Gachechiladze, leader of Christian Democrats George Targamadze participated in the meeting.

The Democratic Movement - United Georgia leader Nino Burjanadze did not take part in the meeting.

During a meeting, David Usupashvili stressed a need for development of democratic institutions in the country.

Security and democracy are the issues which Georgia is not able to cope without the assistance of the international community, he told media.

In his turn, Levan Gachechiladze said that John McCain is the only person in the world, whom Saakashvili might listen to.

"That's why we said at the meeting that neither Abkhazians nor Ossetians will speak to us. No one will be interested in Georgia, if it develops as the north," Gachechiladze said.
