Macron will leave, but shame will remain: truth about "true face" of France

This day has come. French President Emmanuel Macron repeated word for word what my colleagues and I have been writing about for a long time. In the wrong angle, for the wrong reason, but the confession, anyway, was loud. So, during a visit to the sports facility at the Invalides Home, Macron said that France had shown its true face at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris on July 26.

"The French are proud of the Olympic Games opening ceremony, we are very proud of it. I think France has shown its true face," he said.

He's absolutely right. I will just remind you what it is like - this is the real face of Macro France. As you know, the organizers came up with a production similar to The Last Supper, in which instead of Jesus and his disciples there was a bearded woman and men dressed as women. At the end of the number, an almost naked man in blue paint appeared on the stage, depicting the ancient Greek god Dionysus.

This production caused a storm of criticism around the world. Critics saw the speech as ridiculing religious symbols and disrespecting Christianity. A huge number of politicians, current, past and possibly future presidents of different countries of the world were outraged.

In particular, former US President Donald Trump called the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games a "disgrace".

"I am not prejudiced, but I think that what they did was a disgrace," the US presidential candidate told Fox News in the upcoming November elections, assuring that such a thing would not happen at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

The incident was also criticized by Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson.

"The mockery of the Last Supper shocked and humiliated Christians around the world who watched the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games," the congressman wrote on the social network X.

The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris showed the lack of public morality.

That's what Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban thinks.

"There is no public morality anymore, if someone had watched the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris, they could have seen it," Világgazdaság quotes Orban as saying.

In addition, many of the world's leading media condemned the opening ceremony of the current Olympic Games.

The Daily Mail noted that such "provocations" led to anger and accusations of disrespect for religious feelings. The BBC also called the participation of drag Queen to perform a parody of The Last Supper, which led to a scandal and accusations of insulting religious feelings, an unsuccessful concept. Even the French bishops criticized the opening ceremony.

As a result, the director of communications of the organizing committee of the Olympic Games - 2024, Anne Deskam, made a public apology for the scandalous performance during the opening of the Olympics.

"Obviously, we had no intention of disrespecting any religious group. The opening ceremony was aimed at fostering tolerance in society," ESPN quoted Deskam as saying.

In fact, she admitted that something had happened that caused massive outrage.

And so, against the background of all this, the conclusions of Emmanuel Macron appear, who again decided to deny the obvious, demonstrating pride in what was a disgrace and a reason for shame. And that's the whole point of Macron! We are faced with a narcissistic politician who will never admit his failures. Even in situations where they are obvious. In Azerbaijan, such actions of the French president have been recorded more than once.

After all, he made a bet on Armenia, replicating outright lies and trying in every possible way to counteract Azerbaijan's victory in the 44-day war. He was the one who tried to get our country's condemnation for the brilliantly conducted anti-terrorist operation in the Karabakh economic region, as a result of which the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was fully restored.

It is he who is pursuing a policy of providing financial and military support to a country that has been occupying foreign lands for almost thirty years, essentially encouraging Armenian "revanchism". He is putting pressure on official Yerevan, disrupting the negotiation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This kind of action by official Paris is a demonstration of the true face of France.

This face is ugly, to put it mildly. But, as in the case of denying shame at the current Olympics, Macron denies his personal fiasco on the issue of the failure of French policy in our region. He prides himself on being a disgrace. And France's problem is that these geopolitical and sporting disgraces will remain in the history of this country even after Emmanuel Macron leaves the political arena in disgrace.
