Iran’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement on December 20 warning Iranians about Turkey trips.
The statement which was published by the ministry’s official website urges Iranians to avoid unnecessary trips to Turkey.
The warning comes after assassination of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov on December 19.
Following the assassination, the Islamic Republic also closed down its consular offices in Turkey.
Karlov was fatally wounded by an armed gunman at an art gallery in Ankara December 19. The ambassador died later. Three other people got injured in the attack.
