Turkey’s constructing a wall on the border with Syria has led to the Syrians’ protests, Ihlas News Agency (IHA) reported on September 2.

A group of people in the Syrian city of Kobani, near the border with Turkey, threw stones and Molotov cocktails at the Turkish builders who are erecting the wall along the border.

The decision to build walls in the provinces bordering Syria was made as part of the work to step up the fight against terrorism, as the members of terrorist organizations from Syria regularly try to cross into Turkey.

Syria has been suffering from an armed conflict since March 2011, which, according to the UN, has so far claimed more than 500,000 lives.

Militants from various armed groups are confronting the Syrian government troops. The "Islamic State" (IS), the YPG (Kurdish People's Protection Units) and the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) are the most active terrorist groups in Syria.
