Official: Turkey among leading countries for weapon production

Turkey is one of the leading countries in the production of weapons, the Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, Army General Necdet Ozel said, Anadolu agency reported on Saturday.

According to Ozel, the country has made significant progress in the military industry in a short period.

In recent years, the Turkish defense industry has focused on the development and manufacture of its own products. Turkey managed to achieve a 54-percent level of self-sufficiency in the defense industry.
