G8 slams chemical weapons use in Syria

The leaders of the G8 countries condemn the use of chemical weapons in Syria and call on all the parties to provide an access of UN inspectors to the country to check the reportts on its application, a final communiqué of the 'eight' says, RIA Novosti reported.

"We condemn the use of chemical weapons in Syria and call on all the parties of the conflict to provide an access to a group of UN inspectors acting under the mandate of the UN Secretary General, and to involve the expertise of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the World Health Organization to conduct an objective investigation of the reports about the use of chemical weapons," the communiqué says.
