Gas distribution network privatized in Turkey

Turkey's gas distribution network Ba?kent Do?algaz (Ankara) has been fully privatized, Turkish Anadolu news agency reported on Saturday.

According to the agency, the highest price of $1.162 billion was offered by Turkish company Torunlar G?da Sanayi.

Previously it was reported that privatization of the Turkish gas distribution network Ba?kent Do?algaz is expected.

Earlier Energy and Natural Resources Minister of Turkey Taner Yildiz reported that Turkey intends to continue the policy of privatization of the energy sector, in particular electricity and gas distribution sector.

"Turkey has put three electricity distribution companies for privatization. It is planned to privatize several more distribution companies in other regions of the country," Yildiz said.
