Turkish soldier killed in clash with PKK

One Turkish soldier died and another was injured in a clash with the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) on Tuesday in the southeastern province of Mardin Today`s Zaman reported.

Mardin Governor Turhan Ayvaz told the Anatolia news agency that the clash erupted between security forces and PKK terrorists in the village of Unsall? in the Omerli district. A sergeant and lieutenant were injured in the clash and were taken to the Mardin State Hospital for initial treatment. The sergeant, identified as ?lker Duzova, later died in the hospital, the governor stated.

An operation against the PKK is continuing in the region, Ayvaz said, adding that the terrorist group also suffered casualties but the exact number is yet unknown.
