Iran 's president states about need for reforms

18 October 2012 [18:13] - TODAY.AZ
Iran is in need of reforms, country's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said, according to the press office of Iran's president.

Ahmadinejad made the statement in Kuwait, where he arrived to participate in the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) summit.

The ACD, an informal forum of foreign ministers from Asian countries, was established in 2002 in Thailand to enhance mutual cooperation in various sectors.

"All mankind needs reforms, and Iran as well," the president said. "We are looking for a reasonable and humane way to do so."

The president however did not specify what kind of reforms the Islamic Republic needs to implement.

Ahmadinejad said that he believes Iran is possibly the only country that on its way towards progress, is not trying to harm other nations and show hostility towards them.
