A total of 20,000-25,000 migrants left Armenia in the past 10 years, Vice Prime Minister of Armenia Armen Gevorgyan said.
Armen Gevorgyan called for considering official records before making conclusions. Meantime, he admitted that migration phenomena are really being observed.
“The passenger transportation rates from Armenia (both by land and air) are officially published today, and that’s actually the only way we obtain information. As to the percentage of the migrants per se, that’s a strictly professional issue,” he said.
Gevorgyan noted that a total of 20,000-25,000 migrants left Armenia in the past 10 years.
He said a special working group has now been set up to define the migrant concept in accordance with internationally accepted criteria.
