Turkish opposition leader may stand trial

Head of the Turkish opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Kemal Kilicdaroglu may stand trial for his statement about an explosion at a military warehouse in the province of Afyon-Karahisar, the Turkish newspaper TimeTurk wrote on Tuesday.

The Turkish General Staff will go to the law in connection with the statement of the head of the opposition, the report said.

On Monday, Kemal Kilicdaroglu said the blast, which occurred last week at the military depot in the province of Afyon-Karahisar, was the result of a terrorist attack.

He noted that the attack was carried out by remote control.

Last week, on Thursday, an explosion hit military depot in the Turkish province of Afyonkarahisar, killing 25 soldiers.

According to the official version, the cause of the explosion was careless handling of explosives.
