Iran in no way is trying to develop a nuclear weapon, Islamic Republic's former president, Expediency Council Chairman Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said, ILNA reported.
Rafsanjani made the remarks during the discussion with Spain's ambassador to Iran, Pedro Veena.
Rafsanjani noted that Spain has very little trust in Iran on international arena, and he hopes that this will improve in the future.
Former president said that Iranian nation is a peaceful one, and it has no intention of pursuing any nuclear goals.
"Use of nuclear weapons in any country will bring tremendous disasters and irreversable damage for future generations," Rafsanjani underscored.
