According to the World Health Organization (WHO), suicide rates in Georgia are the highest among South Caucasus countries with a rate of 8.8 cases per 100.000 population compared with Armenia with 3.9 cases.
The lowest rates were in Azerbaijan, which has 1,3 cases per 100,000 population. Lithuania leads the post-Soviet countries with 71.7 cases per 100.000 population followed by Russia with 64.3 and Belarus with 57.5 . The Islamic country Iran, Haiti, Jamaica and South Africa registered the lowest suicide rates in the world.
