Iran intensifies gas searches on Caspian Sea

Iran's Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi said today that Iran has intensified gas searches on the coast of the Caspian Sea, Mehr reported.

"We have established platform on bases that will conduct gas researches in the Sea. The research will be carried out by Iranian specialists," Qasemi noted.

The minister said that for establishing serious presence in the Caspian, more hydrocarbons structures must be installed.

He added that a support center for the research works will be established in the Mazandaran province of Iran.

Iran launched first drilling platform the Amir Kabir, former Iran-Alborz in the Caspian Sea in 2009. The platform was constructed by Sedra company in the Neka coast. The platform is located on the four bases. The platform was developed by Iranian engineers.

The structure was prepared on three construction projects, including the construction of the Amir Kabir platform, manufacture of the "Caspian" ships and establishment of support center.
