Iran's FM accuses EU

EU is responsible for reckless decisions and conditions for crisis, said the statement of the Iranian Foreign Ministry in connection with the recently adopted oil embargo against Iran, Mehr reported.

The European Union banned imports of oil from Iran on Monday and agreed to freeze the assets of Iran's central bank, joining the United States in a new round of measures.

"Oil embargo against Iran is irrational and unwarranted step. The basic condition for Iran's relations with other countries - is the law and international law. The nuclear program of Iran is completely transparent, is of peaceful nature, and is within the framework of international law," the statement reads.
