Iran to expand relations with Azerbaijan

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi said here on Monday that Iran is willing to expand ties with the Republic of Azerbaijan, IRNA reported.

Salehi told Azeri Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov that a trilateral committee session with participation of Turkey would provide the three countries and nations with an opportunity to deepen friendship bonds. He wished the Azeri government and nation health and peace.

Khalafov, conveying the warm greetings of the Azeri President and foreign minister to Iranian officials, said expansion of relations with Iran is among principled demands of Azerbaijan.
