Roughly 10,000 observers to monitor municipal elections in Azerbaijan

The final number of observers registered for watching the re-run, additional and new municipal elections in Azerbaijan were released. The Central Election Commission (CEC) reported some 9,863 observers were registered by the electoral district commissions and 40 observers - by the CEC.

No international observers have applied for watching the elections. The municipal elections scheduled for Nov. 30 will be held in 86 electoral districts for 464 vacancies in 330 municipalities. Azerbaijan held last municipal elections on December 23, 2009.
