Chief of NGO branch of ECOSOC visiting Azerbaijan

Chief of NGO branch of the United Nations Secretariat of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Andrei Abramov is on his visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF).

The visit is aimed at studying the real situation of the NGO sector in Azerbaijan, ways of their integration into the UN structures and discussions on the dynamic development of civil society institutions as well as the International Eurasia Press Fund’s activity in the regions.

The International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), a non-profit organization in Azerbaijan, was formed in 1992, and over the years, it has focused on four main activities: peacemaking and conflict resolution; community development; refugees and IDPs; and, media and civil society development.

Since 2007 IEPF is a consultative member of ECOSOC.
