Japanese leading mass-media publish interview of Azerbaijan`s ambassador

In connection with the 20th anniversary of restoration of the state independence of the Azerbaijan Republic the Japanese newspapers “Asahi Shimbun”, “Jomiuri Shimbun”, The Japan Times, “Sankei Shimbun” and “Kyodo News” news agency have published interview of the newly appointed ambassador of Azerbaijan in Japan Gursel Ismayilzade.

The interview includes information on history of the independence of Azerbaijan which is the successor of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic that existed during 1918-1920s.

The Ambassador has told about the accomplishments reached during the years of independence of Azerbaijan, the reforms conducted in the country in social, political, economic and education fields, as well as becoming of Azerbaijan a democratic state with stable political system.

The interview also highlights the economic power of Azerbaijan, the important place it occupies in ensuring global energy security, its role in realization of economic projects of regional importance.

In interview also was mentioned the Azerbaijani-Japanese relations, successful development of bilateral ties in political, economic, cultural and other areas, the assistance Azerbaijan rendered during natural calamity in Japan.

Besides, the Ambassador has also presented detailed information on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, its serious consequences, occupation of 20 percent of the Azerbaijani lands by the Armenian armed forces and over 1 million Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs. It has been noted that the international organizations and the world states, including Japan, support territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
