Azerbaijan, Georgia hold consultations on consulate issues

Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Georgia held consultations on consulate issues. Chief of the consulate department of the Azerbaijani Ministry Mehriban Najafova and director of the Consulate Department of the Georgia`s Foreign Ministry Giorgi Tabatadze chaired the meeting.

The sides discussed successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia, mutual visits of high level officials, as well as, outcomes of intergovernmental commission`s meeting. They underlined importance of consultations in order to continue cooperation in consulate issues.

The parties also exchanged views on legal status of the citizens of the two countries living in Georgia and Azerbaijan, agreement on legal assistance in civil, family and criminal matters, legislative acts, regulating processes of migration and other issues. Situations of dual citizenship and statelessness, extradition of prisoners were discussed during the meeting.

The sides agreed on experiment exchange on consular operations and biometric identity documents. The parties signed a letter of intention on relevant issues.
