Ruling party: PACE special rapporteur wants to sow discord in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani ruling party accuses Christopher Strasser of partiality.

PACE special rapporteur Christopher Strasser said that there are over 100 political prisoners in Azerbaijan.

Making these statements, Christopher Strasser wants to sow discord in Azerbaijan, deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, MP Siyavush Novruzov told Trend on Saturday.

"After the presidential elections in Armenia in 2008, dozens of people, protesting against the election results, were killed," Novruzov said. "But this speaker did not say a single word about it. At present, a lot of people are in custody for their political views in Armenia. But Strasser is silent about it."

MP said that the democratic processes are successfully conducted in Azerbaijan.
