EU special representative: Lack of confidence - main obstacle to resolve Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

The main obstacle to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the lack of confidence between the parties, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Philippe Lefort said at a press conference in Baku on Thursday following his visit to Azerbaijan.

The EU, which attaches great importance to the resolution of existing conflicts in the region, will further support OSCE efforts in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution, he said.

Lefort called contribution to the resolution of this conflict and boosting relations between Azerbaijan and the EU as his main mission.
