Rossana Boldi: Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be promptly resolved to achieve peace in region

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved as soon as possible in order to ensure peace and stability in the region, the head of Italy-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group, Senator Rossana Boldi said in the meeting with the members of Italy-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary working group in Azerbaijani parliament on Friday.

Boldi also said that Italian parliament discusses Nagorno-Karabakh conflict frequently. Italian MP said that Azerbaijan plays an important role in protection of regional peace and stability.

Speaking in the meeting, head of Italy-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary working group in Azerbaijani parliament Azar Karimli pointed out existence of high level relations between the two countries. He stressed that a number of countries, as well as Italy supports Azerbaijan`s fair position in Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Adoption of resolution on situation in the South Caucasus, especially on Nagorno Karabakh in Italian parliament and support of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity in this document is evidence to that.

Members of Italy-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group of the Italian parliament started their visit to Azerbaijan on Friday.
