Ambassador: Washington makes efforts to settle Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) Ali Ahmedov has today met with U.S. Ambassador to Baku Matthew Bryza.

The sides discussed state and prospects of the U.S.-Azerbaijani relations, the NAP reported.
Emphasizing that a peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a priority for the U.S. foreign policy in the region, Bryza said Washington is making a serious efforts to achieve substantial progress in this regard.

Speaking about the reforms in Azerbaijan, he said substantial progress was achieved in the economic sphere.

Ahmedov appraised the role of the U.S., as co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution and expressed hope that the U.S. administration will reinforce efforts in this regard.

As for reforms in Azerbaijan, Ahmedov said the reforms bring successful results and the pople hail efforts in this direction. Then Ahmedov informed the U.S. diplomat about activities and international relations of the NAP.
