Deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Islamic Party Arif Ganiyev was detained.

Arif Ganiyev was detained by plainclothes policeman outside his house in Sumgayit at 20.00 yesterday. Arif Ganiyev was together with his son. The causes of Ganiyev’s detention are not known.

Arif Ganiyev has reportedly got a lawyer. It is not known where he is held. Deputy chairman of the party Haji Akif Heydarli said the lawyer had not met with Arif Ganiyev yet.
