Azerbaijan's ruling party assesses permission for ex-Azerbaijani president's arrival in Baku as step of humanism

11 August 2011 [09:00] - TODAY.AZ
The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) assesses the permission granted to former Azerbaijani president Ayaz Mutallibov to come to the country as a step of humanism.

"The permission given to Mutallibov to come to the country once again demonstrates that the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is a person who with humanism approaches all sections of the Azerbaijani people, any person, regardless of who is this person," the NAP deputy executive secretary, MP Siyavush Novruzov told Trend in an interview on Tuesday.

He said the head of state has repeatedly taken such humane steps.

"Even during his election, Aliyev said that he is the president of all Azerbaijanis. Such humane steps have been taken by him repeatedly. Certain persons have been released from arrest to attend the funeral ceremony of their loved ones. The current step of humanity, ensuring Mutallibov's inviolability deserves appreciation. And this is despite that at one time, our national leader Heydar Aliyev was largely restricted, in general, was not given the opportunity to live in Baku. The threats and insults forced him to leave for the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic," Novruzov said.
