Azeri ambassador attends celebration event in Polish school

Azerbaijan's ambassador to Poland Hasan Hasanov participated in the celebration event of the school named after chemist, geologist, oilman and philanthropist Witold Zglenicki.

The event brought together representatives of local executive power, businessmen, community, family members of Witold Zglenicki and others, according to Azerbaijan Embassy in Poland.

Witold Zglenicki was not only an explorer of rich oil pools in the Caucasus but also a pioneer of oil extracting from the bottom of the sea. He directed the early development of the oil industry of the port of Baku, Azerbaijan.

He also sponsored foundation for the development of Polish culture and science which brought him the reputation as the "Polish Nobel". Azerbaijan`s oil contributed to the development of education in Poland.

Director of School Ms. Malgojata Kalon greeted participants and provided information on the history of the school.

Hasan Hasanov presented diplomas to the pupils and touched upon the services of Polish engineers and architects in the development of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan's embassy presented books on Nagorno Karabakh, the Armenian aggression policy against Azerbaijan, Khojaly genocide and other themes in the Azerbaijani, English and Polish languages to the library of the school.

The event featured a concert.
