New union of pro-governmental parties to be established in Azerbaijan

A new union of pro-governmental parties is established in Azerbaijan.

The chairs of pro-governmental parties, Free Republican Party, Azerbaijan Democratic World Party, Azerbaijan Party of Fighters, Azerbaijan National Statehood Party and Azerbaijan Republicans Party - Kamil Seyidov, Mammad Alizadeh, Agadur Muslimov, Sabir Taryverdiev and Syubuta Asadov - will hold a press conference on Friday dedicated to the establishment of a new political union at the level of chairs.

The purpose of the union is to support the policy of reforms pursued by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic World Party Mammad Alizadeh told Trend.

"For this purpose, regional institutions, the institute for public control have already been created. The union is initially called "Union of Democratic Reforms". Currently discussions are underway to clarify the name of the union. Tomorrow at a press conference it will be informed what name finally will be chosen for the union, said Alizadeh.

The union of parties support the democracy in Azerbaijan in an evolutionary way," he said.

"We support the changes in an evolutionary way. We want to mobilize our forces against certain forces that are interested in creating an unfair in the Azerbaijani society. We want to play a significant role in the development of civil society in Azerbaijan so that democracy would be established in the country and it would acquire a wide range. We plan to take over the function of people's control over the implementation of orders and decrees issued by President Ilham Aliyev," he said.
