Top official: Legislative framework of Azerbaijani Armed Forces will be enhanced

Azerbaijan monitors the legal documents on military conscription.

"Experts of the Parliament, Defense Ministry and Presidential Administration are working together on the documents," First Deputy Parliamentary Speaker and Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee Chairman Ziyafet Askerov told journalists today.

He said a large work is to be carried out, as a part of the military legislation’s acts had been prepared before the adoption of the Constitution in 1995. The legal framework should be improved given the development of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Askerov said.

"We intend to strengthen the legislative framework of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces with these changes," he stressed.

Azerbaijan adopted the law "On basics of military conscription" in 1992.
