Act signed on establishment of EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly

The main part of the first meeting of EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly has ended in Brussels.

Following the speeches of the heads of the participating countries’ delegations, an act was signed on the establishment of this structure. Parliamentarians from the European Union, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine adopted the procedure mechanism on the activity of the organization.

President of the European Parliament said according to the procedure, decisions will be passed in EURONEST with 2/3 votes of parliamentarians. Following this, the co-presidents of EURONEST were declared. One representative from each country and Bulgarian member of the European Parliament Kristian Vigenin were elected co-presidents of EURONEST. MP Elkhan Suleymanov was elected co-president from Azerbaijan.

The parliamentarians will discuss the issue on establishment of committees and working groups of EURONEST.

The delegation led by Ziyafat Asgarov is representing Azerbaijan at the meeting. The delegation includes chairman of the parliament’s committee for statehood and legal policy Ali Huseynli, parliamentarians Gulchohra Mammadova, Elkhan Suleymanov, Fuad Muradov and Asim Mollazadeh.
