Azerbaijan's Culture Minister meets Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustained Development

Culture Minister of Azerbaijan Abulfas Garayev today met with Minister of Economy and Sustained Development of Georgia Vera Kobalia.

Garayev briefed Kobalia on what had been done in his country to develop culture and tourism and relevant projects to be carried out in the future. He noted Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced 2011 - the Year of Tourism in the country. Garayev underlined Azerbaijan was the first country in the region where Institute of Tourism was established to prepare professional personnel in the field of tourism.

He also touched upon the importance of the 10th "Tourism and travels" exhibition to be held in Baku.

According to Garayev, Azerbaijan is interested in tourism cooperation with Georgia which has good infrastructure in this sphere.

Kobalia, in turn, expressed assurance that Azerbaijan-Georgia cooperation would be fruitful and beneficial for the two countries. She noted rapidly developing Baku would have great accomplishments in the future as a tourism city.

The sides also discussed opening of relevant representations, establishment of working group, implementation of joint projects, organization of seminars.
