"Azerbaijan always feels Turkey's support"

Azerbaijani-Turkish relations are at a higher level than relations have tended to be between the two countries, said Faig Bagirov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey.

Turkey is one of the first countries that recognized Azerbaijan's independence, Bagirov said in an interview with the Zaman newspaper. Azerbaijan has always felt Turkey’s support.

The numerous Turkish-Azerbaijani documents signed in cooperation between the two countries, as well as a mutual investments, are good testaments to this cooperation, he said.

Both countries strongly support each other in the international arena, he said.

Bagirov stressed Turkey's support to Azerbaijan in the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
