Armenian separatists, with Armenia's support, continued to control the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and seven surrounding Azerbaijani territories, the U.S. Department of State said in its Human Rights Report 2010.

According to the report, land mines placed along the border with Azerbaijan and along the line of contact in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict continued to cause bodily harm.

The report also says there are many gross violations of human rights in many fields in Armenia.
