On Monday, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has received a new head of the CE office in Azerbaijan, Ambassador Konstantin Erokostopulos.
Mammadyarov said that the Azerbaijani side is ready to further expand the cooperation with the CE Office in the country, the foreign ministry said.
After informing the guest about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mammadyarov said that he considers the current situation (status quo) of the OSCE after conducting the field assessment mission in the occupied Azerbaijani territories as unacceptable.
Mammadyarov said that Armenian armed forces must be withdrawn from Azerbaijani territories. The most important issue is to return refugees and internally displaced persons to their homes.
Ambassador Erokostopulos said that he will try to further expand the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe.
