
Energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Mexico was discussed recently. The discussion was held during Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mexico Ilgar Mukhtarov’s meeting with Mexico's newly appointed Energy Minister José Antonio Meade.
During the meeting, the sides stressed the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector, the embassy said.
Muktarov informed Meade about the history of energy production in Azerbaijan, the Nobel brothers’ activities in Baku, Oily Rocks, and Azerbaijan’s energy policy.
Meade stressed the importance of expanding ties with Azerbaijan in the energy sector, and underscored his country's interest in cooperation.
The meeting also addressed the possibility of a Mexican delegation visiting the "Caspian Oil and Gas" international exhibition and conference in Baku on June 7-10.
