Several EU member states' ambassadors to Azerbaijan visit Nakhchivan

Ambassadors of several EU`s member states and head of the European Commission`s Office in Azerbaijan visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on February 21-22.

During the visit, all aspects of relationship with Nakhchivan and cooperation within Eastern Partnership program were discussed. Head of the European Commission`s Office Roland Kobia said the EU intends to establish relations with all regions of Azerbaijan.

He expressed belief, that cooperation between the EU and Autonomous Republic would be stronger in variuos spheres.

They also touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying it has negative impact on the development of the region. The ambassadors also praised successful implementation of OSCE projects in Nakhchivan.

The diplomats had meetings at the Supreme Assembly, Ministries of Interior, Justice, Economic Development, Foreign Affairs.

They also met Ombudsman, representatives of NGOs and political parties. The talks focused on a number of issues, including gender, youth, environment and human rights.
