The process of unification of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan and Musavat crashed even before it began, the chairman of the opposition Umid Party Iqbal Aghazadeh told Trend.
"Even then I thought that this process is completed and no unification of Musavat and Popular Front Party will take place. If not seeing this - it means not to know about the ongoing political process and have no idea of these organizations. We are clearly aware of current political processes and seeing the approach of these organizations to these processes," said Aghazadeh.
According to him, society should not expect something from the union of PFPA and Musavat. "Society must focus on new processes. It should not expect miracles from this process," said Aghazadeh.
With regards to the resignations at the Musavat Party, Aghazadeh refused making any comments.
"I approach the processes occurring at the Musavat Party as events in the inner context. So there's nothing that I could say about the inner-context, because I have no intention of interfering in the internal affairs of the party. This is not the result of processes taking place in society, it is the result of inner-party processes," said Aghazadeh.
Recently, Azerbaijani opposition Musavat Party's four functionaries Sulheddin Akbar, Ibrahim Ibrahimli, Adil Geybulla and Gabil Huseynli resigned from the party.
Musavat head Isa Gambar proposed to unite the parties following the course of Rasulzadeh-Elchibey on July 15 at the 21st anniversary event of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan. The Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan reacted first to the proposal.
However, the head of the central executive office of the Musavat Party, Arif Hajili, told Trend on Monday that the last meeting of party's assembly decided to refuse unification with PFPA and further deepen partner relations with this party. Musavat's assembly is the supreme organ of the Party, and its decision reflects its official position.
